Los fen\u00f3menos de gran escala modulan varios de los fen\u00f3menos clim\u00e1ticos a nivel planetario, afectando en Chile patrones espaciales de precipitaci\u00f3n y temperatura en distintas regiones y \u00e9pocas del a\u00f1o. En este trabajo, se analiza la teleconexi\u00f3n entre ENSO y la frecuencia de eventos extremos de precipitaci\u00f3n durante los periodos: 1980-2009 (sin megasequ\u00eda) y 1980-2019 (con megasequ\u00eda). Para ello, se realiz\u00f3 un an\u00e1lisis de m\u00e1xima covarianza utilizando anomal\u00edas de temperatura superficial del mar y la frecuencia relativa de eventos de precipitaci\u00f3n por debajo del percentil 10, y sobre el percentil 90. Los resultados revelan que, durante el periodo 1980-2009, el patr\u00f3n dominante de covariabilidad para las temporadas analizadas est\u00e1 altamente correlacionado con el \u00edndice Ni\u00f1o 3.4 (\u03c1 > 0,8), relaci\u00f3n que se mantiene en verano para el periodo 1980-2019, pero disminuye en invierno. Al comparar los periodos 1980\u20132009 y 1980\u20132019, se observa una disminuci\u00f3n en la influencia de ENSO para este \u00faltimo, la cual sugiere la posibilidad de que otros fen\u00f3menos podr\u00edan estar influyendo m\u00e1s sobre la frecuencia de eventos extremos de precipitaci\u00f3n. Estos resultados tienen implicancias relevantes para la gesti\u00f3n futura del recurso h\u00eddrico y el dise\u00f1o o actualizaci\u00f3n de infraestructura bajo condiciones no estacionarias.<\/p>\n
