El \u00cdndice Estandarizado de Caudal (SSI) se emplea com\u00fanmente para detectar y caracterizar eventos de sequ\u00eda hidrol\u00f3gica debido a su simplicidad, pero existe una comprensi\u00f3n limitada sobre su relaci\u00f3n con variables del ciclo hidrol\u00f3gico. En este estudio se analizan las relaciones entre el SSI y otras variables hidrol\u00f3gicas mediante la implementaci\u00f3n del modelo SUMMA, acoplado al modelo de rastreo hidrol\u00f3gico mizuRoute, en seis cuencas con distintos reg\u00edmenes hidrol\u00f3gicos en Chile Central. Usando datos de precipitaci\u00f3n del producto CR2MET v.2.0 y salidas del modelo a escala mensual, se evaluaron las correlaciones entre el SSI y variables clave como precipitaci\u00f3n, humedad del suelo, nieve (SWE) y contenido de agua subterr\u00e1nea, considerando diferentes escalas de agregaci\u00f3n temporal. Los resultados muestran que la respuesta del SSI var\u00eda seg\u00fan el r\u00e9gimen hidrol\u00f3gico de la cuenca, siendo m\u00e1s sensible en cuencas pluviales cuando se utilizan agregaciones superiores a nueve meses. Las correlaciones m\u00e1s altas (coeficiente de Spearman > 0,7) se lograron con un SSI de seis meses y variables hidrol\u00f3gicas agregadas a nueve y doce meses. Adem\u00e1s, se observ\u00f3 que la trayectoria de propagaci\u00f3n de sequ\u00edas, desde una meteorol\u00f3gica a una hidrol\u00f3gica, puede cambiar dr\u00e1sticamente seg\u00fan la escala temporal utilizada, lo que subraya la necesidad de una mayor precauci\u00f3n en la aplicaci\u00f3n del SSI.<\/p>\n
