RESUMEN<\/strong><\/p>\n

Se presenta un an\u00e1lisis estad\u00edstico de las sequ\u00edas meteorol\u00f3gicas en la zona central de Chile comprendida entre La Serena y Puerto Montt. El estudio est\u00e1 basado en las series de precipitaciones anuales registradas desde 1915 hasta 1984 en 87 estaciones de la regi\u00f3n. En base a ellas se confeccion\u00f3 una muestra dimensional espacio-temporal dividiendo la regi\u00f3n en 43 franjas para los 70 a\u00f1os disponibles. En el estudio se identifican las sequ\u00edas hist\u00f3ricas para diferentes niveles de demanda y se pone \u00e9nfasis en sus propiedades espacio temporales. Finalmente se estiman algunos par\u00e1metros de las funciones de distribuci\u00f3n de propiedades como la duraci\u00f3n, extensi\u00f3n, magnitud, intensidad y otras. Por \u00faltimo se plantean algunas propiedades conjuntas de la extensi\u00f3n y la duraci\u00f3n de las sequ\u00edas en la zona.<\/p>\n
