RESUMEN<\/strong><\/p>\n

Se desarroll\u00f3 un estudio que permiti\u00f3 estimar la disponibilidad futura (o downtime,definici\u00f3n en ingl\u00e9s de la no-disponibilidad) para el proyecto de expansi\u00f3n del Terminal 2 del Puerto de Valpara\u00edso. Este se realiz\u00f3 mediante la utilizaci\u00f3n de modelos num\u00e9ricos de oleaje debidamente validados con mediciones en terreno y de respuesta din\u00e1mica no lineal de naves atracadas. El estudio permiti\u00f3 definir que el terminal en su concepci\u00f3n actual no podr\u00e1 alcanzar la utilizaci\u00f3n requerida para hacer rentable la inversi\u00f3n de un terminal para el manejo de contenedores.
